Surrey Plus Maths Hub covers Surrey, North Hampshire and East Berkshire. Surrey is just a stone’s throw from London but a million miles from the capital’s hustle and bustle. In Surrey you can explore the rolling countryside and vast woodlands and enjoy the green, open spaces including the Surrey Hills Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), complete with the highs of Leith, Box and Holmbury Hills, the natural amphitheatre of Devil’s Punchbowl and the expanses of ancient heathland.
There are many picture postcard English villages, glorious gardens, royal palaces and ruined castles, together with beautiful stretches of waterway and opulent stately homes including Hampton Court Palace.
The Surry Plus Maths Hub area also boasts vibrant market towns with a great mix of shops and a tasty variety of places to eat and drink including the historic town of Guildford with its cobbled streets and interesting shops. Surrey is a great base to discover the delights of the home counties of England, as well as the great attractions London has to offer. London Waterloo is only 30 minutes on the train from Woking with its historic buildings, world renown museums and shops. Trains are very frequent!

For more contemporary arts and crafts inspiration, visit Farnham’s New Ashgate Gallery and the University of the Creative Arts (UCA) Craft Centre, home to internationally-renowned collections of modern British craft and inspiring exhibitions.
Award winning museums provide an ever changing programme of cultural and contemporary exhibitions and things to do, perfect for families and young children. On a much larger scale, visit the Sculpture Park in Churt. Open all year round, the park spans ten acres and is home to over 600 stunning sculptures.
There are numerous theatres and cinemas throughout the region offering shows for all ages.
There is also the beautiful historic Hampton Court Palace with not only the castle, but the outstanding grounds, too – a chance to step back in time with Royals of old.
Of course, London is only a show train journey away with numerous museums, palaces, castles and historic sights including Buckingham Palace, St Paul’s cathedral, London Bridge to name but a few of its many attractions.
There are also activities galore to keep everyone entertained, from the Napier-Railton (that held the land speed records) 4D experience at Brooklands Museum, to a Wild Wood tree top experience in Guildford or the thrills and spills at one of our four famous racecourses, Epsom Downs, Sandown, Kempton and Lingfield.
There are numerous sporting opportunities covering all sports from the traditional football, cricket and hockey to dry slope skiing and ice hockey! Whatever sport you are interested in there is an opportunity to get involved either watching or taking part.
A short drive or train journey to Wimbledon will allow you to watch world famous tennis players. For those more interested in rugby there is the famous stadium at Twickenham.
For football fans, there is Chelsea FC, Arsenal and many more.
