MSc Education online with the University of Southampton
The MSc Education is a part-time online masters aimed at international and UK-based teachers, trainers and education professionals who are looking to develop their postgraduate teaching and leadership qualifications within education organisations.
As part of your Quantum Scholars’ training package, you will be eligible for funding to study three of the six modules which together with a dissertation (30 CATS) make up the masters degree. You may be able to negotiate further funding to complete the programme with your employing school. The six modules are Making Sense of Education Research, Data collection and analysis, Teaching and Learning, Education Practice and Innovation, Leadership and Management and Education Effectiveness. There will be opportunities to work with local mentors, who will support you to contextualise your studies in mathematics or physics education. A significant benefit of this approach is that you will be able to complete the MSc Education even if you change location.
To be eligible for study, you will require a first degree at first or upper second level from a UK University or equivalent qualification from a non-UK University. You will need to supply evidence that you have appropriate experience in education or in a related professional field relevant to the programme. If your first language is not English and you do not have a degree from a UK university, you will be required to provide evidence of competency in English. More information on English language requirements are on our Entry requirements page.
More information on the MSc Education can be found on the University of Southampton website.
